From the "She dances" series, this is another version of steampunk ballerina Beatrix mounted on wood. Ready to dance on your wall!

Two pieces from this series were purchased by designer Kenneth Cole.

As an environmental artist, I hate to see things wasted. I believe that MOST things can be recycled, and this is proof.

This image was taken from my upcycled sculptures, digitally altered and applied to wood scraps from kitchen cabinets. she reaches out with an arm of electrical wire and one of gnarled rusted wire.  Acrylic paint was layered on and  then finished with a clear UV coating. Edges are finished with black banding.

One of a kind

Handmade in the USA by Jo DeSerio Jones

About Beatrix: Head to toe; her hat is a repurposed bar spout and cardboard from fireworks, face is cast resin with burned out Christmas bulbs as hair, neck collar is a recycled glass bottle and washers, torso is a sprinkler and lawn edger blade, yarn and thread grapevine scraps with a steel wire cage, arms are remnants of a curling iron and salvaged motor parts, her tutu is mostly curly pods, acrylic shards, bottle caps and a few random found objects, and her feet are piano hammers. No need to worry though, all edges have been ground and filed.
